Planning
Monday's Fireside Chat in Los Angeles
Everything has harmonized beautifully for my
in-person program on Monday at the Beverly Hills Country Club
in Los Angeles, which will be the new local "home" for FFTP.
I spent time at the Club yesterday coordinating
the logistic details...
The room is beautiful with chandeliers and a grand fireplace. The
room color accents and carpet pattern are green...wouldn't you know :-)
In fact, I will be seated in a huge green patterned armchair fit for a
queen and my students will have very comfortable thick-cushioned
banquet chairs. I arranged to have tables set in a large "U" formation
so that participants can lean if they want, have space to place their
beverages and not just have to sit classroom style.
There will be beverage service throughout the class and I ordered some
chees/fruit/crudites for the end of the class and the Club
is providing flower arrangements. The fireplace will be on and the
lights set low.
I am vaguely reminded of the historical "fireside chats" by
President Franklin D. Roosevelt, which were actually radio broadcasts
which began during the Great Depression and continued successfully
through the "Golden Age of Radio" in the 1930s and 40s. He urged his
listeners to support his New Deal Program measures to move toward
greater freedom and security and economic recovery.
Well, I don't have presidential status, but I am giving actual
in-person fireside chats urging MY listeners to support the greatest
Universal laws and apply the principles - the measures - that will
release them from their own economic challenges and move them toward
greater freedom and security.
Cary, a long time student here in Los Angeles, is bringing his
digital recorder so that we will have a recording of the evening for
students to download. I want all participants to be completely
"present" in consciousness for the class and not have to be busily
taking notes, so providing students with the audio reinforcement will
serve that purpose.
As I was arranging everything with David, the sales and catering
manager, I came to a stark realization - and a happy one - that I was
now on the other side of the fence:
After 20 years of servicing large corporate clients...
I AM THE CLIENT!!
I am being pampered as the client, the host of my own event, and the
attendees are MY special guests. How cool is that? :-)
The maximum number of students for this evening is 20, and after a
couple of last minute registrations that came in today, there are just
a few spaces left.
If you are in the Southern California area, I would love to have
you join us. Kathleen, a former private student of mine, is flying in
from Texas just for the evening, to lend support, and I'm looking
forward to meeting her in person and to welcoming all new students
personally as they arrive. My telephone students from the past three
years are no less important to me, it's just that it's so exciting to
add a whole new dimension to this work.
If you are in this area, in the mood for a fireside chat - and
ready to make a "New Deal" with the Universe....then register and come
on over...
