Prayer for Protection

The light of God surrounds me.
The love of God enfolds me.
The power of God protects me.
The presence of God watches over me.
Wherever I am, God is!

The Prayer for Protection was written by popular Unity author and poet James Dillet Freeman for all soldiers during World War II. It is as powerful today as it was then and is beloved by millions.

The prayer is one of two Freeman compositions carried to the moon by Apollo astronauts. In 1969, Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin took the Prayer for Protection along on the first manned Lunar landing in history. On that landing, he was the second human being to set foot on the Moon, following mission commander Neil Armstrong.

Below is the longer version of the prayer. I have personally only used the above short version of the prayer over the years and it has served me well. I was “guided” safely out of a fire that resulted in ten deaths in a brand new Hilton Hotel  in Houston with no sprinkler system. During the Northridge Earthquake, everyone around me had damage but absolutely nothing in my home or office moved — even though the back wall of my office in the high rise was adjacent to the law library that caved in and was completely destroyed. Then there was the Christmas morning at a mailbox when I was held up and found myself staring into the barrel of an automatic weapon.

My students have been using it with similar results. One student’s home was completely spared from devastating tornadoes that hit her area, while homes within two miles were leveled. I received many reports of safety in recent years from those who embraced this prayer in the California and Australia fire zones and U.S. hurricanes. I’ve seen personal healings of every kind — physical, emotional and financial — from this prayer, including my own through the decades.

NOW…in recent years we have had a broader universal and immediate need for this prayer to protect us and all the citizens of our cities, states, countries, and planet from a major challenge — a historic pandemic. Do not doubt this for a moment — scientific affirmative prayer will not only protect ourselves and our loved ones — but it can reach around the world at the speed of light, whether we are conscious of it or not. Your thoughts and prayers contribute to the critical mass for victory. We are aware and alert, but we don’t dwell on the problem, we don’t live in fear and let the media determine our state of mind. We dwell on the solution, and live with faith in an Intelligence that wants to guide us and protect us if we ask in a way that allows us to receive
